Adult Karate

A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step

We believe that fighting skills, diligence, courage and compassion learned at Seichou Karate are lessons that you should “take with you”.

Students who apply these lessons to their lives become karateka (karate practitioners). They meet at our dojo (Japanese martial arts school) to improve themselves and help others to improve. Rigorous fighting practice is an essential part of our curriculum, but students at our dojo observe etiquette and traditions of Japanese martial arts that make our training rich, worthy of life-long pursuit, and as safe as possible.

It’s not just a class. It’s a lifestyle.

Our traditional Japanese karate program includes meditation, yoga-based warm-up, technique (kihon waza), movement patterns(kata), free-fighting (jiyu kumite), traditional weaponry (kobudo), self-defense (goshinjutsu), and board-breaking (tameshiwari).
